Luxury Yoga Retreat in Mykonos May, June + September 2018
If you’re looking for a yoga retreat at a 5* hotel in a beautiful place, but don’t want to go somewhere far away from everything, our yoga retreat in Mykonos offers just the perfect balance – a luxury setting with plenty to see and do, but also plenty of quiet time and space to relax.
And we don’t think you need to deprive yourself on a yoga retreat – yoga is at the core of our trips, but we like to enjoy a nice break at the same time. No waking up at dawn, no strict rules on food and drinks, you can skip a yoga class, and you can spend time with the group or on your own – most people do a bit of both.
We’ll stay at a gorgeous 5* hotel on one of the most beautiful beaches in Mykonos, we’ll practice yoga on our terrace with views out to sea. We’ll enjoy delicious meals and spa treatments, and we’ll plan day trips and group dinners. But everything is optional – completely up to you.
Mykonos is the quintessential Greek island, we know it well and two of us from Yoga Escapes will be there to show you the nicest corners!

What to expect
Our yoga teacher and yoga classes are top-quality – that’s the main focus of our yoga retreat in Mykonos. But we appreciate that you’re also looking for some downtime and a chance to relax. So we have no rules, we’re completely flexible with everything, and you can decide how you want to spend your time, no strict schedules to follow. We’ll be there to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Our groups are normally 10-15 people from all over the world, we have many people coming on their own, and we create a warm friendly atmosphere so everyone feels welcome from the start. We’ll practice yoga twice a day, with an active Vinyasa flow class in the morning and an evening restorative Yin yoga class at sunset, and all yoga levels are welcome, even beginners.
Our yoga retreat in Mykonos is located on stunning Elia beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
Our 5* hotel is directly on the beach, and we have a separate private section with sunbeds and umbrellas in a quiet spot. The hotel is also close to Mykonos town, about a 15-minute drive (there’s a hotel shuttle bus), and Ano Mera town is just up the street.
We’ll practice yoga on a terrace under the shade of a little white church with magical views out to sea – it’s wonderful. And there’s plenty to do around Mykonos – all sorts of watersports, horseback riding, sailing, shopping, and boat trips to nearby islands.
It’s easy to get to – there are direct flights to Mykonos from several European cities, and also several flights a day from Athens.
We’re hosting our yoga retreats in Mykonos at the 5* Myconian Imperial Hotel & Thalasso Spa – a luxury hotel with superior service and member of The Leading Hotels Of The World.
The hotel is located directly on Elia beach and an easy commute into town, with regular shuttle service throughout the day. It’s just been completely renovated to an impeccable high standard.
There’s a private beach, a thalasso-therapy center with a treatment on us, outdoor and indoor pools, a sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, aromatherapy services, massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. The spa has been voted as one of the top in Greece – definitely worth a treat.
You’ll stay in spacious Premium Seaview rooms – all have been renovated this year – with gorgeous views of Elia bay and housekeeping twice a day. We check the rooms before you arrive to make sure you get the nicer ones! There are also several restaurants including a fine-dining Greek restaurant, poolside lunch service, a sushi bar, and a cocktail bar.
Mykonos is famous for its delicious food – from high-end restaurants to casual family-run tavernas with wonderful local ingredients. We’ve been to many of them over the years and have our favorite ones, and we’ll be there to plan group dinners so you can try them out.
The Myconians take special care in preparing and presenting their food – the ingredients are super fresh, and a basic salad can taste heavenly simply because of the wonderful ingredients and olive oil. And there’s always something for everyone – from veggie dishes to fresh fish and grilled meat, and all sorts of Greek specialties. We also have our favorite Greek wines and enjoy a glass with dinner.
We don’t have any rules when it comes to food a drink, and we don’t have set menus. You can eat anything you like, you can have wine or a cocktail, it’s all part of the holiday. Some people who join us are vegetarian or have specific dietary needs – that’s absolutely fine, we cater to that as well and make sure you’re taken care of.
We’ll have a large buffet breakfast together after yoga, with many options – omelets, yoghurt and honey, toasts, fruit juices, fresh fruits and veggies, and so much more. Some people enjoy a light lunch or afternoon snack, but the breakfast does keep us going for a while.
We’ll go into Mykonos town for dinner some evenings or stay nearby on the beach, we’ll offer up recommendations on local tavernas as well as more fancier restaurants, depending on what the group prefers.
Yoga is at the heart of our retreats, and we offer the real deal. You’ll definitely get a good workout, but the goal of the physical practice is to challenge you enough physically so you can begin to let go and quiet the mind. That’s what yoga is all about – calming the mind. And that’s what we teach on our yoga retreats. You will feel re-energized and restored both physically and mentally.
We offer two yoga classes a day on our yoga retreat in Mykonos: a morning Vinyasa flow class to get your heart going, and an evening Yin class to relax. Both classes are suitable for all levels.

“A great holiday – yoga, hotel and setting were all excellent, but most important in making this a special experience were Laura and Holly. Laura has an intimate knowledge of Mykonos and organized restaurants, beach trips etc. with a personal touch. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done without fuss. She has a knack of being well organized but making everyone feel thoroughly relaxed.” Bernard, Amsterdam
“I’ve been on yoga holidays before but this was the first one to strike the right balance of uplifting and restorative yoga mixed with fun evenings and plenty of time to relax. Thanks Laura and Holly for a fantastic week in Mykonos, I’ll certainly be back.” Jules, London
“A perfect balance between excellent yoga classes and a fun holiday with a great group of people. Beautiful location, perfect organization, relaxing days at the beach and evenings out at delicious restaurants. Laura makes everyone feel comfortable and part of the group, and Holly’s yoga classes by the sea were wonderful. I want to go back with you to Mykonos!” Marina, Milano
