5 Day Yoga, Art, Wellness & Ceremony Women’s Retreat to Colombia
August 7 - August 12| From $559
Intuition Eterno invites women from all stages of life, all backgrounds, and all levels to join us on 5-day yoga & wellness retreats to Colombia. This is our inaugural year, so we have kept costs low to as to make it accessible to anyone who may want to visit Colombia and return home feeling reinvigorated by a unique, entirely holistic getaway.
These retreats were founded and are facilitated by two 30-year old best friends based in San Francisco. Between us, we have 20 years of dance and yoga training, and have traveled to more than 30 countries. We can’t wait to suspend reality with you while we take this dreamlike adventure together!
Colombia is our destination for our Intuition Eterno retreats – the lush, enchanting, dynamic Colombia.
We offer two consecutive sessions in August 2018, you are welcome to join us for one or both. The SUN session will take place August 1-6 on the Caribbean coast. Our second session – MOON – takes place August 7-11, 2018, in the Andean foothills outside the vibrant city of Medellin.
You may be thinking, isn’t that area dangerous? Well, besides the recent peace pact between the longtime guerilla group FARC and the Colombian government, we have personally traveled to this area and share utmost confidence that our MOON retreat location is as safe and quiet as can be. In fact, Medellin is famous for having turned itself around and becoming one of the safest most environmentally sustainable cities in South America.
Just 40 minutes from Medellin and 20 minutes from the Cordova International Airport, we will find our retreat site – Las Casas del Bosque – made up of a series of full-service cabins on the periphery of Park Arvi, a massive ecological reserve.
We will be guiding daily yoga and meditation sessions, playing around with movement, dance, and improv, as well as offering herbalism, sound healing, and ecstatic dance sessions. From our collective experience, we’ve found that these activities help connect our bodies with our minds and spirits, which can produce this amazing feeling of centeredness and empowerment.
Ghazy is a certified yoga teacher, and is currently studying her practice in an ashram in India. She will be leading us in surya yoga flow in the morning, and a chakra yoga flow in the evening. She will also guide us in a 30-minute active dynamic meditation each day. Natalie is a theater and dance artist, specializing in expressive arts and somatic movement. She will facilitate workshops on somatic healing and dramatic expression to get us out of our heads and into our bodies.
During the third sunset, we will join Eagle Condor Alliance – a Colombia-based organization that partners with local shamans – to participate as a group in a wachuma (the mildly hallucinogenic San Pedro cactus) ceremony in a safe and supportive environment. Wachuma ceremonies are administered by a trusted local shaman who has worked with this sacred medicine for many years. The cactus is usually consumed as a tea and folks often report an uplifting, spiritual experience, and a sense of connectedness to the Earth. At sunrise on the fourth day, we will gather for a temazcal (sweat lodge) ceremony, which is known for its dynamic physical and emotional benefits. We expect that if you come on this retreat, you have the intention of participating in these ceremonies as a group.
We will have ample time to reflect after these transformative ceremonies, and engage in some gentle yoga to come back into our bodies. We will close each day with a circle, and will end this retreat with a final gathering circle before returning to our normal routines completely renewed.
We will provide lunch & dinner on the first day of the retreat, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the second, third, and fourth days of the retreat. We’ll provide breakfast on the fifth day before departure from the retreat site. All meals will be cooked from locally sourced ingredients (organic when possible), and mostly vegetarian (though we will have meat and vegan options available by request).
Natalie & Ghazy are your co-facilitators for this all women’s retreat. We have dedicated our lives to achieving true connectedness of the body, mind, and spirit…not an easy task but one that we have learned is actively cultivated through yoga, meditation, art, dance, plant medicine, ceremony, wholesome food, travel, and time with friends. We’ve carefully organized these retreats to incorporate all of these elements in less than a week – bound to leave you feeling reinvigorated, inspired, empowered. We are both 2nd generation immigrants and personally invite other WOC to embark on this forest nymph adventure.
