LOCATION

Located in the India, the birth place of Yoga, our retreat space is right on the white sands of Patnem beach, carefully designed and built with local natural materials to blend in with the natural surroundings, to help you reconnect with nature. Three beautiful fully equipped yoga shala’s, The Ocean Shala with a, breath-taking ocean view The Temple Shala for a more intimate practice. and The Sunset Shala overlooking across the Arabian sea. Listed as one of the best places to practice yoga in India by Conde Nast.

ACCOMMODATION

Each bungalow has an ocean, temple or mountain view, with comfortable european mattresses, crisp linen and a mosquito net. Each hut has been carefully built to make use of the natural ventilation from the cooling sea breeze, however there are fans for hotter,  tropical times of year. Each room has an ensuite bathroom with western style toilets that are open to the sky for the magical experience of showering under the stars.

FOOD

The retreat focuses on healthy locally sourced food, organic wherever possible creating wholesome and nutritious vegetarian meals, cooked with love for your bodies restoration and growth without compromising on flavour. In the morning we will have fresh juices, tropical fruit salad and a selection of teas. For brunch and dinner, we will be served a delicious Goan inspired buffet with fresh nourishing salads. Throughout the retreat we will have unlimited water, afternoon teas and cookies.

YOGA

Margherita’s yoga retreats build from one day to the next, allowing the group to make grow and evolve in their practice with a toolbox of ideas and techniques that you can take home and introduce in to your daily life. In keeping with our natural energy cycles, the morning yoga sessions will awaken and energize, whilst evening sessions will ground and relax us ready for a restorative night’s sleep. Each vinyasa practice will focus on asana alignment whilst encouraging the development of breath awareness and an attitude of grace. The therapeutic alignment of her work is for anyone who would like to gain a strong foundation for a lifelong practice, and for those who experience chronic pain or limitation of movement in the work. Expect individual attention and modifications tailored to your body. This inclusive retreat is open to all seeking to progress on their yoga journey.

PROGRAMME

The retreat will start with a short “Puja” ceremony to bless the space and create an intention for the week. Following the rhythm of the day morning yoga classes are generally more energetic. In the afternoons we will focus on alignment, asana lab, exploring postures in details, therapeutics, restorative, meditation and Yoga Nidra.

There will be lots of free time to do as you please…enjoying the beach, coconut trees and sunsets, hammocks, massage, reading, as well as plenty of optional activities and excursions. Slip out for a quick nip to that nearby boutique, or explore the other beaches – Agonda beach is a short tuc-tuc away. Sunset trips to dolphin watching is included to complete the experience of this magical Indian yoga retreat.

There are also therapists available to give bodywork sessions such as Ayurvedic massage, Thai Yoga massage, deep tissue massage and other healing arts.
