REVIEW INTUITIVE FLOW YOGA STUDIO IN UBUD, BALI
I finally made it to Intuitive Flow, a well-established yoga studio in my neighborhood in Ubud and I can’t believe it took me so long to discover this peaceful little oasis.
Imagine a quiet and peaceful yoga shala where the only sounds you hear are the birds and crickets. While practicing you look out over palm trees and rice fields. A gentle breeze cools you off. Add to this the dedicated and experienced teaching and you’re in yoga heaven.
So far, I joined a very relaxing yin yoga class with Sandi and a Yoga Pranala class with Linda Madani. Linda developed her signature program Yoga Pranala to nourish, heal and transform mind, body and spirit and it’s an interesting mix of gentle hatha yoga and energy work, including pranayama and chanting.
To be completely honest, the Yoga Pranala class was a bit too gentle for me. Especially in the morning I like to move my body more. But I’ll definitely be back for some more yin and restorative yoga!
The Yoga Schedule
Intuitive Flow offers a wide variety of daily classes, yoga retreats, and teacher training programs, meditation and even ancient Balinese healing techniques. Click here to check this week’s schedule at Intuitive Flow.
The teachers at Intuitive Flow are from Bali, Indonesia and around the world. You’ll see more and more Indonesian yoga teachers in Bali, due to the tightened immigration policies (it’s very difficult for international yoga teachers to get a work permit to teach yoga in Bali these days). Personally, I think it’s great and I love meeting local yoga teachers who bring their own experiences and cultural insights into their teachings.
Intuitive Flow is located in a quiet and peaceful area in Penestanan, an area popular with expats a little bit outside of the bustle and bustle of central Ubud.
To get to Intuitive Flow, you can either walk the little path across the street from Alchemy restaurant to the studio (around 500 metres) or park your motorbike in Gang Pacaken behind Café Vespa at the end where you can’t go any further by bike and walk the last 50 meters. The studio itself has no proper street access.
Should you visit Inuitive Flow?
Intuitive Flow is not as big as the popular Ubud yoga studios Yoga Barn and Radiantly Alive and has less classes on the schedule, but if you prefer small classes, healing self-work and personal interaction with the teacher, this is the place to try out. And the location makes it extra special!
Prices range from 120,000 IDR for a single class to 825,000 IDR for a 15 classes pass. Special prices apply for Balinese and Indonesian students.
