Who would have thought that Koh Phangan, the island best known for it’s infamous full moon parties, would become such a hot yoga destination? This guide for yoga in Koh Phangan will help you find all the best yoga places on this amazing island. There always have been yoga retreats on Koh Phangan, but within the last years the yoga scene really exploded and especially Sri Thanu in the North-West of Koh Phangan attracts more and more conscious yoga traveller with yoga studios, healthy restaurants and a relaxed hippie atmosphere.

Here is the guide for yoga in Koh Phangan:

The Yoga Retreat in Koh Phangan

The Yoga Retreat has to come first in my guide for yoga in Koh Phangan because it’s where I’ve been practicing Ashtanga Mysore for 2 months beginning of 2016 (check out my post „WHAT I LEARNED IN FOUR WEEKS ASHTANGA YOGA“). The Yoga Retreat offers daily Mysore and Hatha Yoga classes as well as detox and yoga packages including accommodation. I really recommend it if you want to immerse yourself into Ashtanga yoga. Drop-in classes cost 300 THB, a 30 classes pass costs 5500 THB. Note that there are no drop-ins for Ashtanga Mysore, they ask for a 5-day commitment.

Agama Yoga

Agama Yoga is the biggest yoga school in Koh Phangan. They don’t offer drop-in classes, but yoga teacher trainings, intensives and a whole lot of other courses and trainings. They are also called the yoga university for a reason! Every new student to Agama Yoga starts with a 4-week program that covers all the basics of Yoga, focusing on a Tantric form of Yoga that is energy based.

Orion Healing Center Yoga Studio

Orion Healing Center is a yoga studio in Koh Phangan that offers packages including accommodation and detox or yoga and also drop-in yoga classes in different styles – e.g. Mysore Ashtanga, hatha and vinyasa yoga. On top to yoga they offer detox and healing retreats, holistic therapies and have a really nice restaurant with healthy and yummy food. Drop-in classes cost 300 THB.

Samma Karuna is a yoga studio located in Srithanu in Koh Phangan and has to be included in this guide for yoga in Koh Phangan. Gaia Yogashala Koh Phangan

Gaia Yogashala is nestled at the Northern end of Sri Thanu and offers drop-in classes as well as workshops for yoga, meditation, breathwork, massage and dance. It’s a very relaxed place close to the beach. Drop-in classes cost 300 THB.

Ananda Resort

Ananda Resort is specializing in detox and yoga packages including accommodation, but they also offer gentle yoga classes that are focusing on alignment and special needs (yoga for health) for drop-ins. Drop-in classes cost 300 THB.

The Sanctuary

The Sanctuary in Koh Phangan has received raving reviews since it opened in 1992 and of course I had to add it to the ultimate guide for yoga in Koh Phangan. Since then, The Sanctuary has slowly evolved from an alternative learning center to an international yoga center and a well-known detox facility. It’s located on a remote beach in the South of the island and offers accommodation for a range of different budgets, from simple rooms that you share to luxurious houses with air-con and TV. Surrounded by tropical jungle vegetation, the resort is very secluded and remote, making it the perfect place to go inward connecting with the self. You don’t have to stay at The Sanctuary to visit the yoga classes or the restaurant, but there are not so many other options around, so make sure to do your research. Drop-in classes cost 350 THB. A pass for 7 classes costs 2.100 THB.

Pure Flow Yoga

Pure Flow Yoga in Koh Phangan, Thailand, offers intimate, affordable and life-changing Yoga Retreats, Daily Classes and Teacher Trainings for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Daily Drop in classes are 350 THB / 1500 THB for 5 classes / 2500 THB for 10 classes.

The Yoga Studio

The Yoga Studio is located in Thong Nai Pan Yai on the Northeast corner of Koh Phangan. They offer drop-in hatha yoga and Pilates classes, as well as private yoga classes upon request. Drop-in classes cost 350 THB.

As you can see this guide for yoga in Koh Phangan covers many options for yoga in Koh Phangan.
