I’m in Koh Phangan now, but I wanted to share with you my tips for a relaxing day in Phnom Penh, the capitol of Cambodia. Just imagine that you already visited all the must-see tourist sites and have one more day just to do what feels good, full of yoga, shopping and healthy food. I recommend planning one day like this for every city trip if possible – you will feel recharged and relaxed and open for new experiences when your travels continue.

Here are my tips for a relaxing day in Phnom Penh, full of healthy food, yoga and shopping:

Shopping at Street 240 in Phnom Penh

Street 240 is shopping central of Phnom Penh, with cafes, restaurants and wine bars tucked between cute little boutiques. At Waterlily, jewelry and accessories are made from recycled buttons and beads, while non-profit Mekong Quilts has handmade bedding and cushions.

Lunch at ARTillery

You won’t believe how I happy I was when I stumbled upon this lovely little restaurant, hidden away in a courtyard in street 240. After 4 weeks of a diet consisting of mainly rice and vegetables I was craving some fresh, healthy produce. ARTillery not only looks inviting and friendly, the food was amazing. I forgot the name of my dish, but it was chicken, pumpkin and green vegetables with a tahini sauce. It was so good that I decided to get the macro bowl for takeaway too and ate it for dinner.

Fly Yoga at Yoga Phnom Penh

A Fly Yoga class with Alison at Yoga Phnom Penh was the perfect way to stretch out my muscles after a long day traveling. The class was at the same time invigorating and restorative, just perfect. Definitely check out the studio when you find yourself in Phnom Penh. Picture of Alison by Bernadette Vincent.
